SomArts has long been a pioneering, community-based arts organization serving various underserved artists in SF and beyond. This program is a pioneering effort to train community arts leaders, curators and cooperating artists on using the virtual world platform to create, manage, sell and curate art and artists on an international scale via the web and virtual worlds. This is also an effort to help community arts leaders develop new skill sets to effectively create virtual exhibits that incorporate and affect underserved audiences.  It will also help curators rethink how art is presented in the future to newer generations or artists.
